At the Learning Gardens, we understand that children are constantly learning and growing. Our goal is to create a supportive environment that helps students succeed both academically and socially. We believe that clear communication and collaboration between Learning Gardens staff and parents are crucial in setting and maintaining behavior expectations. By working together, we can ensure that each child receives consistent guidance and support, fostering a positive and respectful atmosphere for all.

While we do not have rigid set rules, we maintain a culture rooted in the 7 Habits of Happy Kids, fostering proactive, respectful, and responsible behavior. We also practice non-violent communication to ensure a peaceful and supportive environment. The safety of all participants is of utmost importance in all our programs. While we encourage positive interactions and self-regulation, any participant engaging in unsafe behaviors will face appropriate consequences to maintain the well-being of everyone involved.

Level One Consequences

May include verbal reminders, time-outs, or temporary removal from an activity. Examples of Level One behaviors include running ahead during a hike.

Level Two Consequences

May involve a meeting with parents, temporary suspension from the program, creating a behavior contract, or other actions deemed necessary to ensure the safety and well-being of all participants. Examples of Level Two behaviors include violent actions or incessant lying.
