At the Texas Nature Expo, there will be engaging speakers and a vibrant vendor fair. While this event is primarily geared towards adult education, our students will set up a space at the vendor fair. In previous years, our students participated by setting up a lemonade stand, generously supplied with donated lemonade from a local restaurant, and selling crafts they created throughout the semester. This project is led by the kids; we provide them with ideas and welcome their participation if they are interested. We encourage the students to use the money earned to help the local community. In the past, the funds raised were used to purchase items to create gift bags for the Henderson County Help Center's Maggie's House, teaching our students the value of community service and giving back. The Texas Nature Expo not only provides a fantastic opportunity for students to engage with nature but also fosters a sense of responsibility and generosity.
Please note that there will be no classes on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, and Friday, April 4, 2025, as we prepare for the Texas Nature Expo. While we encourage Forest School families to join us and help with projects during these days, there will be no drop-off available, and no formal classes will be conducted.
